Gran's Barley and Lentil Stew

Ingredients:

1 medium onion – chopped

2 cups water

2.5 cups tomatoes – chopped

1/2 cup barley – presoaked

2 leeks – chopped

1/2 cup lentils

1 small carrot – grated

oil

basil

Tabasco sauce

Optional:

Baharat

Method:

Fry onions till soft.  Add leek and fry fruther 5 minutes.

Add all ingredients excepting for carrot.  Bring to boil, cover, and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add carrot, and cook about 5 minutes, till barley and lentils soft.
