Pears in Mascarpone Custard


6 medium pears (or peaches or apples) – peeled

1 teaspoon sugar

4 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

2 Tablespoons flour

2/3 cup mascarpone cheese


  1. Arrange fruit in baking dish and sprinkle with sugar.
  2. Cream butter and sugar till light.
  3. Beat in egg, then mascarpone cheese.
  4. Stir in flour and mix well.
  5. Spoon over fruit, and bake in moderate oven, till just set – about 20 minutes.
