Sugared Pecans (Chinese Pecans)


1/2 kg shelled pecans

250 gr sugar

oil for deep frying


  1. Rinse nuts in cold water, drain, and place in bowl.
  2. Add sugar, and mix well with hands.
  3. Store in refrigerator 24 hours.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying, and fry nuts 3-5 minutes, till they turn slightly darker.
  5. Remove from oil quickly with drainign spoon.
  6. Remove as much oil as possible, and leave to cool and dry on oiled tray.
