Dian’s Pot Roast


2 large onions – sliced

2 kg brisket

gravy mix


spices – salt, pepper, sweet paprika, ginger, garlic …


  1. Glaze onions in some oil.  Add brisket and season.  Turn to brown and add spices to this side.
  2. Add water as necessary, to keep lower part of meat moist.  When done, remove meat from pot.
  3. Mix gravy powder and cornstarch with cold water, and add to simmering stock in pot.  Add water and thickening to taste.
  4. Pour gravy over meat.
