Lori's Chala


1 kg flour

1 cup sugar

50 gr yeast

1/4 cup oil

2 eggs

1 Tablespoon salt

2 cups water


  1. Mix all ingredients excepting for water.
  2. Add water graudally, and knead well.
  3. Leave about 1 hour to rise.
  4. Divide into three pieces, and plait.
  5. Leave to rise, covered.
  6. Paint with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
  7. Bake in moderate oven about 25 minutes, till golden-brown.
